Career advisers at the CLS work individually with students to craft post-graduate employment plans. We help students capitalize on their experiences and skill sets to identify potential employers and positions, prepare tailored application materials (résumés and cover letters), practice for interviews, and learn how to interact professionally with potential employers. On-Campus Recruiting

Each year, the CLS hosts a number of organizations seeking to recruit Grinnell students for internships and full-time positions. Companies and organizations we’ve recently engaged with through webinars, interviews, or information sessions include AmeriCorps, AVODAH, Bain Consulting, City Year, Epic Systems, Iowa Public Interest Research Group, Lutheran Volunteer Corps, J.P. Morgan, Microsoft, Morningstar, Oliver Wyman, the Peace Corps, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.


The CLS partners with a number of undergraduate consortia that facilitate the recruitment of college students for both internships and full-time positions. For example, the nine-member Selective Liberal Arts Consortium (SLAC) sponsors annual interview days. The 29-member Iowa College Recruiting Network (ICoRN) hosts regional interview days. The 30-plus-member Liberal Arts Career Network (LACN) manages a premier on-line database of jobs and internships specifically for students at highly selective private liberal arts colleges.
