Student Health and Counseling Services (SHACS) is dedicated to health and mental health education and prevention. We present and consult on topics related to physical health, mental health, and wellness.
Throughout the year, we offer a variety of workshops, talks, groups, and activities for students, faculty, and staff.
Group counseling is as or more effective than individual counseling in helping members acquire new ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. This is because group members can practice new behaviors both within the group and in their everyday interactions outside of group.
Defining Masculinity Group
Defining Masculinity, a new group for those who identify as male, will meet to discuss healthy and toxic masculinity.
30 Minutes of Mindfulness
30 Minutes of Mindfulness is designed to provide students with an opportunity to practice mindfulness in a semi-structured setting.
No experience is needed and no materials or special clothes, seats or mats are required.
